Watch Macklemore & Skylar Grey Perform 'Glorious' On 'GMA' (VIDEO)

Macklemore and Skylar Grey performed their new song “Glorious” on Thursday’s “GMA.” Watch the video below!

“Glorious,” which was released in June, is Macklemore’s first official song since he and longtime partner Ryan Lewis announced they were taking a break to work on solo endeavors. “After the last tour, Ryan and I agreed that some creative space would be good for the both of us,” Macklemore said in an Instagram post. “We have been working together damn near every day for 9 years and it felt like the right time. This decision came from a place of love for one another.” He went on to vow, “There will be more M&RL music to come when the time is right.”

But right now, Macklemore is focused on his second solo album, which is actually his first since 2005. He said of “Glorious,” “It felt like the right record to come back with, embarking on this new chapter of life.” The music video, which dropped in early July, even features his grandmother. A second single, “Marmalade” with Lil Yachty, came out just two weeks ago. Now Macklemore appeared on “Good Morning America” to talk about it all.

The interview actually started off on a serious note, with Macklemore asked about his recent car accident. “I’m doing good,” he insisted, confirming, “I got hit by a drunk driver in a head-on collision a couple of weeks ago.” Fortunately, the dad of one was apparently uninjured, but he was reportedly cited for driving with a suspended license.

On a happier note, Macklemore went on to discuss celebrating his grandma’s 100th birthday in the “Glorious” video. He admitted she had “no idea” that a stripper would be part of the festivities, and was surprised “GMA” was showing some of the footage. “I know this is a morning show, but that’s a crotch stand right there,” he amusingly pointed out. He also confessed that while the concept was doing whatever she wanted, he came up with most of the ideas, including egging his aunt’s house.

Macklemore promised his upcoming album has some surprises, but was tight-lipped. “I can’t say right now,” he teased. “I have such a good hint for you guys, too, and I can’t do it.” Whatever is on the record, which he submitted to his label on Wednesday, the rapper-singer will support it with a tour beginning in October.
