SZA Teases New Lizzo Music: 'Best Song I Ever Heard In My Life'

SZA caught a serious case of the waterworks after hearing what could be a new Lizzo song.

The “Broken Clocks” singer-songwriter recently took to Twitter to tease “the best song” she’s ever heard, admitting that the listening experience made her teary-eyed — and it seems like the “Truth Hurts” hitmaker may be to blame.

“Lizzo really [just] played me the best song I ever heard in my life,” SZA tweeted on Monday (January 18). “I’m crying lmao like really."

Although SZA didn’t confirm that the mystery song was in fact one of Lizzo’s, fans are really excited to hear it. “Lizzo got music coming omg we’re saved,” one Twitter user responded, as another fan implored, “Ask her to drop a snippet pls I’m begging.”

It’s no secret that Lizzo and SZA are pretty cool with each other. As fans will recall, the songbirds led a virtual meditation session via Instagram Live amid the turbulent and emotional events of 2020.

As far as new music goes, Lizzo released her last studio album, Cuz I Love You, in 2019. The record spawned hits like “Juice,” “Good As Hell,” and the title track. At the 2020 Grammys, the LP was nominated for Album of the Year and took home Best Urban Contemporary Album.

While Lizzo has yet to formally share details of the sound of her highly anticipated fourth studio album, SZA recently dropped “Good Days” on Christmas Day in 2020. The TDE artist also lightly detailed her sophomore album for Cosmopolitan earlier this year. “This album is going to be the s—t that made me feel something in my...here and in here," SZA told the mag, pointing to her heart. "That’s what’s going to go on the album. I’m making all different types of s—t every day from different places in my spirit.”
